Most of our work inside of the 3D modeling software, 3ds Max, been using the Compound objects, which is essentially combining two or more objects to make a singular complex object.
Scatter randomly scatters the selected source object as an array, or over the surface of a distribution object. The BlobMesh compound object creates a set of spheres or particles, and connects the spheres together like they were made of a soft, liquid substance. When the spheres move within a certain distance of one another, they connect together. When they move apart, they take on a spherical form again. Boolean object combines two other objects by performing a Boolean operation on them. Loft objects are two-dimensional shapes extruded along a third axis. You create loft objects from two or more existing spline objects. One of these splines serves as the path. The remaining splines serve as cross sections, or shapes, of the loft object.

It's the start of a new school year, meaning that I am now in my second year of the game design course or the official name, digital design and animation two. Being that most of my my first year in this class was in Photoshop, I was mildly relived when I learned that we would spend some time in 3ds Max. Something about modeling and animating interests me but i have to keep practicing to know if it's right for me. The first assignment proved to be quite easy seeing it as a refresher to the software after the long break, which was setting up a "world" and animating a car driving around it. It was simple and after getting a little bit of help the assignment was not a problem. I think that my favorite part of this year will be the assignments tasked in 3ds Max.
In a sense, you could think of your portfolio as a representation of you. When people look at it, it should tell the person three things, "this is what i like to do, these are my skills," and " this is how professional I am." Essentially showing who you are as a creative individual, out of the many other creative individuals in the world.
When making a portfolio for whatever it is that you're trying to pursue, it is important that it shows your interest and the things that you like, or else it wouldn't be yours in the first place. This should let the person know that you actually enjoy making or doing the things that are in the portfolio and that, if they were to be offered a career that involves doing the things that are inside, then that the person would jump at that chance and not let go of it. The work that is made to be put in the portfolio also has to show what skills you have in that area, for instance, you would see a lot more 3D character modeling rather than animation if that person were better at 3D modeling. The work basically has to tell the person that you have been educated in that area of work, whether being taught yourself or by another person. Professionalism would be the most important factor for a great portfolio. This should includes you being organized, having work related to your passion and you're trying to impress someone. This is very important when trying to make a great portfolio so spending the extra time to make sure everything is correct and in order is recommend. As for me, the portfolio i have at the moment doesn't reflect anything that i have said in this blog post, but after studying the importance that a portfolio will have when you aspire to get a job, especially in the game industry, I now have a idea of how essential it is when putting things in a portfolio and how it shows me as a person off to the many people that may happen to visit it. I will keep my first year projects only tro show as a time stamp and how I've grown over the years and when adding new things, I will have to show my best work when it comes to filling this website with content.

Seeing as It can be used to create countless lines, curves, and shapes, and serves as the building block for illustration and design. The tool is used by creating anchor points, and then by connecting those points with lines, which can be connected further to create shapes. Using the pen tool there is no limits to what you can make.
When opening a new document in Illustrator, the pen tool can be found in the toolbar, having the same resemblance of a pen , it can be easily found. Or to make things quicker you can simply press the "P" key. to create anchor points and lines, the fist point you make will be your beginning anchor point, clicking anywhere else will make a line and your third point will start to form a shape. Repeat this process until you have the shape you want your going to have to connect the points to get a closed shape. At this part you can now edit you shape from the anchor points you have made, returning to an anchor point you've made and placing the mouse over it you'll notice the small minus. This means you can delete that anchor and remove that point and connect the renaming ones. Creating curves is just as easy, as you make points, click and hold to keep your point selected, then drag it to make the curve. To add you can also adjust angle and slope, Select an anchor point and you'll see handles, moving them will adjust the lines.
https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/illustrators-pen-tool-the-comprehensive-guide--vector-141 We recently started a new assignment called HULKASH!. Using the tool Pathfinder we were able to make an image of the superhero Hulk. The Pathfinder tool, probably the most useful tool in illustrator, allows you to cut, divide and trim objects on your art board. This tool making unique shapes ultimately creating things never seen before.
To display the Pathfinder you will have to go to Window > Pathfinder to make it visible. The first Shape Mode is Unite, which will combine all the selected objects into a single larger shape. The second Shape Mode is Minus Front, and it allows you to use any top object to create a cutout from the one underneath. The third option is Intersect, which will create a new shape by using the overlapping sections of the selected objects. Last but not least, we have Exclude, which instead of removing any of the non-overlapping sections does the exact opposite and gets rid of the intersecting surfaces of the objects.
Heading into the third quarter of Scientific Visualization, we now start to learn about new programs used to create images. The application we are now working in is Adobe Illustrator, an app used to create professional digital drawings.
Adobe Illustrator a vector graphics editor, is great for making images that have to be resized constantly without losing its quality.A wide range of artist favor this software because of it's all features that make it easy to make special shapes and create a whole picture out of them. My first experience with Illustrator was easy, seeing as I've already had messed around with the mobile version and had a moderate understanding of Photoshop's tools jumping into Illustrator was simple. The way it was set up is almost the same as Photoshop's interface and some of the tools were similar. There was this one tool that was new that we played around with which allowed you to change the shape completely and another where you could type words around the shape you make. The next day there was an assignment to make a pizza using shapes to get a feel for the software. Though there were few days that we worked on illustrator, I can tell that this editor has a lot more in store for us.
The Marquee Tool is a tool on photoshop that allows one to select parts of an image fairly easily and then edited in so many ways to make the original image different. Another use is to fill it in with color to make simple shapes and lines. There are four types of options that create different areas: rectangular, elliptical, single row or single column.
This tool is located at the top of the Photoshop toolbar underneath the move tool, to make the options available click the tool and hold until a sub menu appears. To select a portion of the image, left click and drag the mouse until you have the size you want, the options single column and single row selects one pixel line of choice. When using the rectangular or elliptical option holding down the shift key will give you a perfect square or circle, making all the sides the same while changing size. A way to edit you selection is to either adding or subtracting from the shape. As long as you hold down the shift key and make a new selection you will add, to subtract, hold down the alt key and repeat the same process. Using these you can make different figures. Once you've made your selection you can now use different features in it, going to the edit menu you can apply fill, transform or stroke to that area. Using the marquee allows you to edit parts of an image.

These two are the ones that were introduced while editing on Photoshop, and when opening each file the look is slightly different.
Bitmap files use pixels to make the bigger picture, pixels are the smallest of color in the image that you see. Thousands and thousands pixels were used to make the image which depends on the resolution set on the picture, the bigger the resolution the more pixels there are. Resolution determines the quality of the picture and often are the best looking of the two. This file format is also easier to convert to files like JPG, PNG, TIF, BMP. Bitmap is the format that you will use most often in Photoshop. Vector files are images that are completely described by mathematical definitions. Actual lines make up the drawing of the photo, which are made up of many points with lines interconnecting ll of them are just a couple of control points connected using Bezier curves. When focusing on file size they tend to be smaller because of Bezier curves that shape the drawing.Unlike bitmap files Vector images don't lose quality by being scaled from its original size which makes this commonly used for things people have to resize every now and then. While this is not the default, Photoshop can use the Vector format, and re most saved as EPS, PDF, PSD, and AI.
www.prepressure.com/library/file-formats/bitmap-versus-vector Color is probably the first thing we notice in the things we see. Color also make the human mind think a certain way and make prejudgements about that thing. When using color we usually choose what appears to be good to eye instead of thinking more perspectivly on how colors match and what vibe they give off. This all is taken account to with professional designers and creators. As this person creates, they think about the mraning that the colors give, maybe if they could even trigger an emotion or cause a significant change to another persons thinking. That is why many art peices are famous, they use the right colors that make another person think about the art and try to see the meaning clearly.
Adobe Photoshop is a software widely known for its capabilities, almost all professionals use the software to make amazing pictures. This software can be used by anybody, but saying that would not be entirely true. One who uses it has to have a broad overview on how to use this software or things will just get complicated if they just jump in head first.
I'll give you simple commands hat will make life a lot more easier when moving around Photoshop.
