Basic 3D modeling is pretty much just adding some primitives together, slapping a random modifier to it and then rendering it to PNG saying that you're done. Well that's 3D modeling in its essentials, when you start to actually pay attention to the things that you make and how certain things effect you shape to give you endless possibilities on what you can make, you start to see the significance of everything in its entirety. And so far, I can even say that it has been entertaining tofigure out new things such ass the Lathe tool where it edits you spline to make a 3D shape, or the different options you have with Boolean to make various designs. With that being in mind, Surface modeling is certainly better than Parametric modeling. I prefer this way of modeling because i can edit an object by looking at the reference and create the object based on what i see. With parametric modeling you have to use the Parameters to affect the 3D object you make. Also in Parametric modeling you have to keep in mind how the object is effected in the real world too, so when making a car or something like that, Parametric modeling would be better.
